PROGRAM OBJECTIVES
i. To make the study of French more utilitarian to meet the demands and sophistication of contemporary society by broadening its scope to include international relations
ii. To help the students to cultivate and acquire a deep knowledge of French Language
iii. To enable our students become aware of the moral and spiritual values inherent in great literary works and other forms of communication in French Language
iv. To promote by research and other means French and International Relations.
v. To enable students to acquire linguistic competence in oral and written communication in French
vi. To produce students who are self-reliant and independent through the acquisition of useful knowledge
vii. To develop in students a critical, reflective and to provide an opportunity for students to study
viii. To familiarize students with the principles underlying the study of French Language and current trends in both fields
ix. To enhance students' ability to use French Language as an effective instrument of thought and communication
ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
French Students admitted to the Department of Languages&Literary Studies for the B.A. degree program in French and International Relations must have satisfied the Babcock University admission requirements. In addition, they must have:
i. 5 credits Senior Secondary School Level including English and any four others subjects include French or History or Government OR
ii. G.C.E. A/L, Baccalaureate or NFLV Diploma for those coming in through Direct Entry
Such student in(i) above should have passed the Babcock University Entrance Examination or JAMB in four subject are as including French Language.
