A 21-man resource verification team from the National Universities Commission (NUC) has presented a positive exit report on 16 new programmes proposed by Babcock University, marking a significant milestone in the institution’s academic expansion.

Receiving the report in the boardroom, President/Vice Chancellor, Professor Afolarin Olutunde Ojewole, expressed delight and reaffirmed Babcock’s commitment to excellence, noting: “We are hunting for champions of knowledge. Babcock University will serve as a launchpad for the world to know about Nigeria.”

He assured that all required resources would be provided, adding: “In two years, guided by our GRACE mantra, these programmes will achieve their objectives and the teams will be proud of the progress made.”

The programmes span Bachelor’s to Doctoral degrees, including B.Sc in Advertising, Broadcasting, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Biotechnology, Business Information Technology, Entrepreneurship, Food Science and Technology, Industrial Mathematics, Security and Investment Management, Computer Science Education, and Dental Surgery.

The Postgraduate programmes include Masters and Doctoral degrees in Mathematics, Human Nutrition, and Dietetics.

Verification team leads commended the University’s facilities and vision with Prof. Felix Talabi of Redeemer’s University describing the Broadcasting and Advertising facilities as “above minimum standards.” 

Similarly, Mansur Umar Burza (NUC) recommended a physical library for AI and Data Science, praising Babcock’s sincerity of purpose” While  the Dental Surgery team highlighted the “highly experienced and resourceful workforce” assembled, noting the Provost’s vigor in driving the process.

This endorsement positions Babcock University as a leader in innovative education, blending traditional disciplines with globally relevant fields. With these programmes, the institution aims to equip students with skills that will drive Nigeria’s development and global competitiveness.
