Calls For Excellence As CPGS Matriculates 690 Students

The College of Postgraduate Studies held its 14th postgraduate matriculation with a total of 690 students for the 2023/2024 academic session.

The School of Management Sciences came top with 193 students while the School of Education and Humanities recorded 87; School of Nursing, 86; Veronica Adeleke School of Social Sciences, 75 and School of Public Health, 69. The School of Basic Medical Sciences topped the rear with 11 students.

Speaking at the ceremony which took place at the Amphitheatre, the President/Vice Chancellor, Professor Ademola Tayo said the university would continually strive to build servant leaders for a better world.

“We are here to ensure that you have a bright future as well to empower you for optimum performance in the labour market,” he said.

“This matriculation confers you full membership with all rights and privileges.”

While congratulating the students for choosing Babcock, he charged them to be ready to unlock the greatness in them with their research projects. He assured them that the university would not hold them beyond the period of their graduation.

“The challenge before you is to identify and work towards specific research that would launch you into limelight and not for you to focus on esoteric areas.”

The Acting Provost of the CPGS, Dr. Olutayo Shokunbi, Director of Academic Planning, Prof. Oludele Awodele and others were also there to give their support.
