The University’s scientific research effort once again gained national recognition and attention with two certificates of patent for inventions in Chemistry by Prof. Adebayo Onigbinde. The inventions: Turkey-flavoured breaded Tofu and wine produced from three underutilized fruits have increased the number of patency rights for Babcock. In 2018, Bab-cock got patency rights from the Nigeria Federal Ministry of Science and Technology for Prof. Onigbinde’s research work with sweet potato flour for confectionaries and other derivations; sweet potato composite baby weaning formula and production of wheat flour fortified with animal and plant protein. All were part of the 13 applications for patent to the Na-tional Office for Technology Acquisition and Promotion (NOTAP). The Minister of State, Science and Technology, Dr. Ogbonnaya Onu thanked Prof Onigbinde for distin-guishing himself and making the nation proud
