In line with its commitment to continuous capacity building and staff development, Babcock University has commenced a two-week computer training program for over 250 staff members, the largest in recent times. The initiative is organized by the Department of Employee Growth and Well-Being and forms a key part of the institution’s GROW philosophy.

Dr. Abiola Makinde, Associate Vice President for GROW department, emphasized the importance of the program in preparing staff for the evolving demands of the workplace. “We cannot remain relevant without continuous growth. Technology is changing the way we work, and our people must grow with those changes,” she said.

Led by Praise Adeyemi, the training is facilitated by LtForce Technologies, a technology and digital innovation company operating across Lagos and Ogun State and renowned for equipping individuals, teams, and institutions with the skills and confidence to use technology effectively. Their involvement ensures that participants will gain practical, hands-on knowledge to integrate digital tools into their daily responsibilities.

Praise Adeyemi, Team Lead at LtForce Technologies, noted: “Our mission at LtForce Technologies is to empower people with the confidence to use technology as a tool for growth. Partnering with the University on this training allows us to help staff embrace digital transformation, streamline their work processes, and build the skills needed to thrive in a rapidly changing world.”

Among other skills, participants are expected to: embrace paperless communication and automated processes; apply newly acquired digital skills in their work as well as foster a culture of continuous learning across the University.

Dr. Makinde added that the program is not only about technical proficiency but also about cultivating a mindset of adaptability and innovation noting, “We expect every participant to become more confident in using technology and to make continuous learning part of our work culture,” she said.

One of the participants, Mr. Olugbenga Olajobi says of the training, “Everything is evolving in this era hence the need to unlearn and relearn. It's been interesting so far and I look forward to the advance session to really learn some new ideas that are essential to my work but do not know how to navigate now.”

This initiative underscores the University’s drive to remain at the forefront of educational excellence by investing in its people. By aligning staff development with technological advancement, the University is ensuring that its workforce remains agile, relevant, and future-ready.
