Empowering Digital Innovators: BEDC Partners with Zoho Africa for an Intensive Low-Code Development Workshop
- 09:00 AM
- Pioneer Youth Church, Babcock University
Babcock University’s commitment to fostering practical, future-ready skills was on full display last week as the Babcock Entrepreneurship Development Centre (BEDC) hosted the Zoho Young Creators Program. Held in collaboration with Zoho Africa, the intensive three-day workshop equipped students with cutting-edge skills in low-code application development.
From Wednesday, October 8th, to Friday, October 10th, 2025, participants were immersed in a hands-on learning environment. The sessions, which ran from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM on Wednesday and Thursday and concluded at 12:00 PM on Friday, were designed to be both insightful and highly interactive.
Led by expert facilitators Shagz Ameed and Stephen Joel Mithra from Zoho, the workshop demystified the world of low-code development using the powerful Zoho Creator platform. Students learned how to build intelligent, automated, and scalable business applications with minimal coding. The curriculum also ventured into advanced topics, including the integration of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning features to create smarter business solutions.
This program is a direct reflection of BEDC's core mission: to bridge the gap between academic theory and real-world industry demands. By providing students with direct access to global technology leaders like Zoho, the Centre is actively nurturing a new generation of entrepreneurs and digital problem-solvers.
The successful collaboration was championed by Dr. Ayodeji Ajibade, PhD FCA, Director of the Babcock Entrepreneurship Development Centre. His vision for practical education was instrumental in bringing this impactful program to the university. The workshop was also graced by the presence of Zoho Nigeria's leadership, including Mr. Kehinde Ogundare (Country Manager) and Mr. Tayo Adetola (Regional Manager), who shared valuable industry insights with the students.
The Zoho Young Creators Program was more than just a technical training; it was an opportunity for students to ignite their passion for technology and see a clear path from learning to creating real-world impact. The BEDC is proud to have facilitated this event and looks forward to future collaborations that empower our students to thrive in the global digital economy.
