The Fire Services Department of Babcock University responded swiftly and averted what could have been a major disaster in the early hours of Thursday, following an accident involving a diesel-laden trailer.

The trailer reportedly lost control and rammed into the road median along the Sagamu–Ijebu-Ode Expressway, near Ilisan and Ikenne in Remo, Ogun State. The impact caused a fire outbreak.

Officers of the Babcock University Fire Service, working alongside the Office of the Associate Vice President, Special Duties, Dr. Victor Adesiyan, and the Directorate of Security Services, led by Dr. Ajike Chukwuma, coordinated the rescue operation and successfully extinguished the blaze, preventing any escalation or loss of life.
