DECODING THE APOCALYPSE OF JOHN: MAKING SENSE OF THE BOOK OF REVELATION

The Apocalypse of John, alternatively known as the Book of Revelation or simply the Apocalypse, is unarguably a coded apocalyptic book in the New Testament (NT). It complements the Old Testament (OT) apocalyptic book of Daniel. Its name or title (Apocalypse or Revelation) is validated by the opening word in the Greek text, ἀποκάλυψις, apokalypsis, with such shades of meaning as an “unveiling,” “uncovering,” “disclosing,” or “revealing.” Read more
