OBJECTIVES OF THE PROGRAMME
The objectives of the postgraduate programme in Microbiology are:
PHILOSOPHY
The philosophy underlying the areas of specialization in the Department of Microbiology at the postgraduate level is to produce graduates imbued with an enthusiasm to take up teaching and research jobs in Microbiology within universities and other academic settings in Nigeria, Africa and the world community. By this the department hopes to contribute to curtailing the drain on the country’s external reserves through overseas training and recruitments.
The Department of Microbiology therefore offers programmes leading to Masters of Philosophy (M.Phil.) in Microbiology.
