Dear Esteemed Parents, I bring you warm felicitations. I hope you are staying safe and healthy. To God be the glory.

You will recall that in view of the COVlD-l9 pandemic, both the federal and state governments directed all educational institutions to shut down as a proactive measure to contain the spread of the pandemic and to save lives. Babcock University shut down operations in compliance with this directive. It is instructive to note that, at the time the school had to shut down, the University was only a week to administering the second semester examinations to end the 20l9/2020 academic session. The University, however, in tandem with her custom and responsibility, has decided now to administer the second semester examinations.

These examinations will be conducted online via the Computer Based Examination approach. This approach has already been in use in the University over the years to conduct the academic assessment of her students for some Courses. All students are already used to this examination platform and would not need any training to use the platform. You will agree with me that in order to further safeguard and secure the lives of our dear children/wards, this model is much better to adopt in the meantime even if the government gives order/directive allowing for the reopening of educational institutions.

To this end, the new examination timetable for the second semester examinations will be made available, a week to the commencement of the examinations to students.

Dear parent, for the purpose of the examinations, all students will use either a smartphone, tablet or laptop/dcsktop computer. We seek your collaboration in this regard. Please ensure that your child/childrcn/ward/wards fully charge their devices at least an hour before taking each examination. It is also expedient that students have sufficient amount of data on their devices for the examinations.

For any issues or problems that may arise while writing the examination, a chatting facility will be provided on the examination platform to give students real-time and appropriate response. A robust hclpdcsk has also been set up by the University to offer solutions to any student who experiences any problems in the course of the examinations.

We enjoin our parent, as a worthy partner of the University, to please ensure that your child/children/ward/wards complete their registration by closing their second semester registration on the UMIS portal of the University to grant them eligibility to write the examinations. F urther detailed information in this regard shall be communicated shortly.

The University solicits your maximum and sacrificial support for the University at this unprecedented time, by providing your child/chiIdren/ward/wards with all encouragements and supports, including but not limited to the requisite materials/devices/data that they need for the examinations.

The University wishes to inform you that, the University’s Bursary will communicate necessary information and instructions regarding students with outstanding payments in another subsequent communication. Dear esteemed parent, Babcock University hereby reiterates its plea to you to ensure your child/children/ward/wards sit for each examination. The University will not entertain any excuse for failure by any student to write each examination in the course for which he/she has registered. To this end, a copy of the new second semester examination timetable will be sent to all students.

We thank you much for your anticipated cooperation, which will make this endeavor a success. With love from us, please Stay Safe; Save Lives.

Dear Students,

I am sure you are staying safe and healthy. I give glory to God for your lives.

You will recall that it was just one week to writing your second semester examinations that the federal and state governments directed that all schools in the country should close down in the wake of the COVlD-l9 pandemic, inorder to contain its spread and to protect the lives of the people. This unexpected situation made it impossible for the second semester examinations to hold as scheduled at the time.

However, Babcock University, after many deliberations on various options, has decided to administer the ‘second semester examinations online via the Computer Based Examination approach, which has been in use over the years in the University for all our GEDS courses. We have no doubt that you all are already familiar with this examination format and platform, and would need no further training to use it.Be informed that this is the way the University is going.

  • To this end, the new examinations timetable for the second semester examinations will be made available at least a week to the commencement of the examinations and will be communicated to all students.
  • For the purpose of the examinations, you will use either a smartphone, tablet or laptop/desktop computer. Please ensure that you fully charge your devices at least an hour before taking each examination. It is also expedient that you load sufficient amount of data on your devices for the examinations.
  • The UMlS password of each student will be required for authentication into the examination portal. Therefore, all students who currently have any issues with their UMlS passwords should please contact Mr. Kenneth Kehinde, Ayeni, Assistant Director, UMlS (08168485016) and provide their matriculation numbers and their Babcock University email addresses for prompt resolution of the issue.
  • A chatting facility will be provided on the examination platform to give real-time response to problems from students. A robust helpdesk has been set up by the University to offer solutions to students who experience any problems while taking the examinations.
  • Please ensure that you complete your registration by closing your second semester registration on the UMIS portal of the University. Carrying out this action will grant you eligibility to write your examinations. You shall be contacted further for detailed information on this very shortly.
  • Be rest assured that the integrity of the examinations shall be adequately guaranteed.
wish you the very best, and success in your forthcoming examinations.

Our Dear Students and Parents/Guardians,

The Administration of Babcock University, very unfortunately, wishes to inform you all that the conduct of second semester examinations is hereby deferred.

This is due to extraneous technical hitches beyond the control of the University. Be informed that the University has sophisticated computer hardware resources, specifically dedicated, to accommodate all that is needed for this exercise. We have functional 32 core processor blade server, 512 GB RAM, sufficient SSD storage and other necessary accessories, capable of handling resources required to conduct the examinations. However, the good news is that our on-ground technical team and foreign consultants have almost finished sorting out the much regretted situation.

The deferment of the examinations takes immediate effect and it will last till Sunday, May 17, 2020. The conduct of examinations will continue from Monday, May 18, 2020 with a release of a revised examination timetable on or before Friday, May 15, 2020.

Please be informed that those students who have successfully completed the 8am - 10am examinations of today, Tuesday, May 12, 2020, shall not be allowed to retake the examinations as they shall be disabled while those who could not successfully complete theirs are guaranteed of another opportunity.

We regret all inconveniences that these technical hitches might have caused you and tender our unreserved apology to you all.

Thank you once again for your immense, cooperation, steadfastness and commitment to this cause.

Babcock....the future is bright
